The Kansas City Royals have opted to go with Brian Flynn as the team's starter Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians. He will take Chris Young's spot in the rotation.

Flynn, 26, has posted a 2.73 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with almost a strikeout per inning in 13 appearances (zero starts) thus far this season.

The former Boston Red Sox prospect does have Minor League starting experience, putting up an 8-10 record with a 4.07 ERA in 25 starts for the Miami Marlins Triple-A affiliate back in 2014.

This move comes after Kansas City opted to send Young to the bullpen after he yielded six earned runs in 2.1 innings in his last start. Young boasts an absurdly high 6.79 ERA thus far this season.
