When Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green was close to playing last week, ownership stepped in to overrule and prevent their star player from suiting up and risking further injury. Now with just one week remaining in the season, CIncinnati has taken the final step to end Green's year placing him on injured reserve.
It means Green will fall 46 yards short of the 1,000-yard mark for the the season. He would have become the second receiver in NFL history to have six straight seasons over 1,000 yards.
