Adam Scott Stays Hot in Australia Tied for Lead Again

Adam Scott continued his brilliant play at Royal Melbourne in the Talisker Masters on the Australasia Tour. He is tied with rookie Nathan Holman, who fired a six-under par 65 in the second round.

Scott added an exclamation point to his homecoming last week by winning the Australian PGA Championship. He has become the main sports story in the land down under by making his first return home since winning the Masters last April.

Scott already has three world-wide wins this year and is firmly in the second spot behind Tiger Woods in the Official World Golf Rankings.

According to the PGA of Australasia website, before his second round 22-year-old Holman stated,

“It would be awesome to play with the Masters champion and just try to go head to head with him. Probably there will be nerves, but I am ready to accept the challenge.”

Be careful what you wish for you might just get it. His fine second round got him just that.

Holman just turned professional this season and has not finished lower than 20th in any of his four previous professional starts. He will get a rare opportunity to learn from one of the very best on Saturday.

Scott remained patient over his second round and carded a five-under par 66 to go with his first round 67. Royal Melbourne is one of the most difficult golf courses in the world. Patience and superior iron play are paramount to low scoring.

Aussie Jarrod Lyle, who has survived two bouts with leukemia, is in the field this week and posted 72-71 for one-over par total and is T-36.

Royal Melbourne was designed by famed golf architect, Dr. Alister Mackenzie and is one of the most revered golf courses in the world.
