The Back 9 Network officially began broadcasting to 20 million homes at noon EDT on Monday, September 29, through its cable provider DIRECT TV.
The new channel’s first broadcast featured “The Turn,” co-hosted by Shane Bacon, Lou Holder and Erica Bachelor. The original program will air three times daily, noon, 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM EDT. “The Turn” offers 60 minutes of golf, pop culture, debate and entertainment.
Other shows that will be included in the daily lineup for the Back 9 Network include, “Off-Par” and “The Clubhouse.”
“Off-Par” airs at 8:00 PM daily and stars Matty Blake and Caite Upton. The show is an inventive look at the world of golf and entertainment, with a comedic twist.
Matty Blake built a career as a standup comedian and has recently been featured in the role as the “Golf Detective” on NBC/Golf Channel’s “In Play” with Jimmy Roberts.
Upton is a former Miss South Carolina Teen USA and has been on “The Amazing Race,” “ESPN Game Day” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Jeff Rude, John Maginnes, and Will Christen co-host the Back 9 Network’s nightly talk show, “The Clubhouse.”
Rude is a longtime senior writer for Golfweek magazine and has done stints on the Golf Channel. Maginnes is a former golf professional and experienced golf analyst. Christen was a professional wake boarder and transitioned to broadcasting.
This trio will host discussions of the daily topics in golf with banter similar to golfer conversations at the 19th hole.
The Back 9 Network can be found on Channel 262 on DIRECT TV.
