Champions Tour Visits Naples for the ACE Group Classic

The Champions Tour moves to Naples, FL for the ACE Group Classic. This event has been held since 1988 at various courses in Florida.

This will be the third consecutive year that the tournament has been hosted by Twin Eagles Golf Club Talon Course. Kenny Perry won here in 2012 and Bernhard Langer is the defending champion.

The Talon Course can be stretched to nearly 7,200 yards and plays to a par-72.

Langer won the first Champions Tour event of the year in Hawaii, finished T-7 last week in the Allianz Championship and leads the Charles Schwab Cup points list.

A limited field of 81 golfers will split the $1.6 million purse with $240,000 going to the winner in the 54-hole no-cut tournament.

Ryder Cup Captain, Tom Watson will be in the field on Friday. He is making his first appearance in the ACE Group Classic since 2006.

The field in the 2014 ACE Group Classic includes 26 of the top-30 money earners on the 2013 Champions Tour. There are also eight members of the World Golf Hall of Fame in the field this week.

In addition to Langer and Perry, past winners here include, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Hale Irwin, Lanny Wadkins and Fred Couples.
