Chesson Hadley Leads After 36 Holes in Web.com Tour Championship

Chesson Hadley posted rounds of 65-66 to get to nine-under par and lead the Web.com Tour Championship by two shots.
Hadley won earlier this year on the Web.com Tour at the Rex Hospital Open in June. He posted seven top-10 finishes, earned $355,000 and has already secured his PGA Tour card for next year.

Joe Durant, who is 49 years old and will be eligible for the Champions Tour in April next year, is just two shots behind at seven-under par.

By simply making the cut this week he will keep his PGA Tour playing privileges, as well as, have the option to play some Champions Tour events next season. He has four PGA Tour career wins, the last coming in 2006 at the Walt Disney World Championship.

Aron Price and Andrew Svoboda are tied at six-under par. Svoboda won the Chiquita Classic and is now projected to finish No. 1 in the FedEx Cup Finals.

A No 1 finish in the Web.com Tour Finals earns full exemption on the PGA Tour next season, as well as, a spot in the 2014 Players Championship.

PGA Tour veteran, Sean O’Hair kept his chances alive to retain his PGA Tour privileges by making the cut on the number. He posted 70-70 even par for the first two rounds and is projected to finish at No. 33 in the Web.com Tour Finals and earn a tour card.

Trevor Immelman, who won the Hotel Fitness Championship, missed the cut and will finish No. 4 in the Web.com Tour Finals. He will earn his PGA Tour card for next year, but he was trying to improve his status and win the Web.com Tour Finals.

Ricky Barnes shot a very poor 74 on Friday to miss the cut and fall from inside the top-25 to No. 53 and will not earn his PGA Tour card. He will be forced to play the Web.com Tour and hope for sponsor’s exemptions to get some starts on the PGA Tour next season.

Veterans and rookies alike are playing for their jobs at TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley Course. The Web.com Tour Championship will conclude this weekend and award 25 PGA Tour cards to deserving professionals.

There is no Q-School this year, but the Web.com Tour Championship has the same feel as the gut wrenching final rounds of the old Q-School.
