LPGA: Angela Stanford Making a Move in Singapore, But Karrie Webb Still Leads

LPGA Tour veteran, Angela Stanford shot a third-round 69, but second-round leader Karrie Webb will retain a one-shot lead heading into the final round at the HSBC Champions in Singapore.

Webb’s first win came in 1995 and she collected her 40th career LPGA win two weeks ago at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. She is currently second in the Race to the CME Globe and No. 7 in the Rolex Rankings.

With seven career major championship titles, she has won every women’s major title except the Evian Championship, which just became a major last year. She has won nearly every award available in the women’s game and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005.

Stanford joined the LPGA Tour in 2001, has five career victories, 74 top-10 finishes and has amassed over $8 million in career earnings.

Spain’s Azahara Munoz and Teresa Lu from Taiwan are three shots behind the leader. Paula Creamer posted a third-round 69 and at seven-under par is four shots back in fifth.

Morgan Pressel in one more shot back at six-under par and alone in sixth spot.

No. 2 in the world Suzann Pettersen has posted rounds of 71-70-70 and is six shots behind at five-under par. She is trying catch world No. 1, Inbee Park who is at three-under par and tied for tenth.

Na Yeon Choi, Caroline Hedwall and Michelle Wie are inside the top-10, but probably too far back to catch the leaders.

Lexi Thompson at two-under par is T-14 and Lydia Ko is one-under par T-17.

The final round will be aired on Golf Channel 10:30-2:30 PM ET.
