Proper Golf Ball Fitting Will Help Every Golfer

Back 9 Report featured Corey Consuegra as a guest interview on Tuesday, October 29. He is the Golf Ball Marketing Manager for Bridgestone Golf and has been with the company since 2005.

Bridgestone Golf first began fitting golf professional Nick Price with the proper golf ball for his game and has been the leader in golf ball fitting for the amateur golfer since 2008.

Golfers have understood the importance of playing the right clubs for many years. Golf professionals and club makers customize clubs to fit every individual golfer’s game. Correct shaft, swing weight, and launch angle of the golf club is just one piece of the golfer’s dilemma.

What about the right golf ball?

Bridgestone realized the importance of fitting the golf ball to the individual golfer and has made a huge effort to do just that.
They have 25 teams of ball fitters that continuously travel around the country to visit local golf clubs, driving ranges and retail shops to provide free golf ball fittings.

With the large number of golf ball manufacturers currently on the market today, how does Joe Hacker know which ball to buy?

Consuegra replied,
“A proper ball fitting is the key element in deciding which golf ball best suits an individual golfer’s style of play.”

He went on to add,
“Bridgestone has made a huge commitment over the past several years to bring the most current golf ball fitting technology that is available to the professional golfer and make it available to the amateur golfer. Bridgestone has performed over 250,000 golf ball fittings over the past six years.”

When asked about the various layers of golf balls available and price ranges of golf balls on the market today, he answered,
“Swing speed, launch angle and spin rate affect ball flight and vary from player to player. Thus different golf ball construction, firmness and flight characteristics will help improve an individual golfer’s game. For example Bridgestone offers nine different golf balls to fit every golfer’s need.”

The B330 series is made for the low handicap player and is used by the professionals. Bridgestone’s “e series” golf balls are manufactured for golfers with slower swing speeds that may also fight slicing or hooking issues.

Bridgestone has made a true commitment to improve every golfer’s game through properly fitting the right golf ball to every golfer.

Check with your golf club, local driving range, or golf shop and get proper golf ball for your game.
