Web.com Tour Finals Begin With Hotel Fitness Championship

The Web.com Tour wrapped up its regular season last week at the WinCo Foods Portland Open. Carlos Ortiz collected his third victory of the season, finished No. 1 on the Web.com Tour money list and earned a full promotion to the PGA Tour.

The Web.com Tour Finals is in just its second season and few changes have been made to the format this year. Four tournaments beginning with the Hotel Fitness Championship this week in Fort Wayne, Indiana will comprise the series with 25 PGA Tour cards being issued to the top-25 money earners.

After Fort Wayne the Web.com Tour Finals will make stops in Davidson, North Carolina, Columbus, Ohio and finish at TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, Florida.

The top-25 money earners from the regular season have already earned 2015 PGA Tour cards, but will try to improve their priority status by finishing at the top of the Web.com Tour Finals money list.

The Hotel Fitness Championship is played at the Sycamore Hills Country Club a Jack Nicklaus design. It is a par-72 and can play to 7,360 yards.

Purses are increased to $1 million for the Web.com Tour Finals with $180,000 going to each winner.

With the discontinuation of the PGA Tour Q-School last season, the Web.com Tour and the Web.com Tour Finals are the only option available to earn PGA Tour cards.

With limited spots available in PGA Tour fields, each player's ranking in the Web.com Tour Finals becomes a very important position for every new PGA Tour member.

Great athletic drama can be witnessed over the next four weeks as PGA Tour veterans are pitted against young rookies and all are trying to make it to the bright lights and big checks on the PGA Tour.
