Sunday will be the day that some regulars are given time off for rest throughout the Major League Baseball season. We're seeing it with both Jonathan Lucroy and Shin-Soo Choo as the Texass Rangers close up their home series against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
Now, A's catcher Stephen Vogt will join his counterparts on the bench in this one. There's no injury concerns here. Instead, Vogt is just being given a veteran day off.
The catcher has struggled out of the gate thus far this season, posting a .200 average with one homer and two RBI in five games. With Vogt out of action, Josh Phegley will get the start against lefty Martin Perez. Phegley has posted a .262 average in his career against left-handed pitchers compared to a .211 mark against righties. Even then, he's not DFS relevant in this one.
