Ask any Baltimore Ravens fan and he/she will not refer to the Indianapolis Colts as the Colts, but instead “the professional team at Indianapolis.” If you have to ask why, you probably sat at the kids table on Christmas dinner.
Let’s start this off with some great news shall we? Ray Lewis is expected (hopefully) to come back this week, after being sidelined since Week 6, and you will not have to worry about Tyrod Taylor taking any snaps as well. I must say he did bring a sense of athleticism to the Baltimore offense Joe Flacco tends to miss. The Bengals defense, of course made itself known to the second string offense of Baltimore. Long story short, Bengals won, Ravens did not.
This week Baltimore hosts the Indianapolis Colts led by Andrew Luck, which means the Ravens will be reunited with Chuck Pagano ,who just so happens to be their former defensive coordinator. Back when that defense was not so laughable.
This matchup is going to be a close one. The numbers on both teams are scarily similar. In offensive points per game, Indianapolis averages 22.3 and Baltimore averages 24.9. In points allowed Indianapolis averages 24.2 and Baltimore averages 21.5. In another eerie instance, Colts have won four of their last five games, and the Ravens lost four of their last five.
One important thing to consider is experience. The Baltimore team has experience when it comes to postseason play, and Indianapolis is going into the playoffs with 28 players who are virgins to playoffs. Although the Colts have a young team, they are extremely talented.
I predict an emotional victory with the Indianapolis Colts rallying around Coach Pagano who recently returned from a hard battle with leukemia, Indy should carry a momentum from the victory over the Texans. And don't forget about Adam Vinatieri who always pulls through with clutch field goals. As tough as it is for this Baltimore born (yet quite adorable) girl to admit. However, I do not expect the Professional team at Indianapolis to make it past the next game. I do hope a strong Ravens team proves me wrong however. For you betting on this game, a 24-17 score should be in the making.
