Week seven of the regular season included a lot of excitement. Heck, the Astros even beat the Tigers once! If you didn’t see the end to that game you missed out. Miguel Cabrera was up to bat in the ninth, with the Tigers trailing by two and the bases loaded. He crushed one to deep center but was caught at the warning track. Back to the topic.
The week seven surprise performances.
Eric Chavez Second Basemen, Arizona Diamondbacks
In his past six games, he has recorded 10 hits in 17 at-bats, with two walks. Along with his ten hits was one home run. He had five RBIs during this time and only struck out one time. In a league where second baseman's are hard to come by, be thankful if he is on your squad. The Diamondbacks have been playing good as of late and even took a series against Atlanta, winning two of three. Arizona is currently tied for first with the San Francisco Giants at 24-18.
Matt Dominguez Third Basemen, Houston Astros
In Dominguez’s last six games he has hit three home runs and drove in five runs. The batting average for the week was not there as he only recorded one other hit, besides his three home runs. But hey! It’s better than nothing. This is one of very few bright spots in Houston as this team is on pace to be one of the worst to ever take the field. They have only won three games this month, while recording 13 losses. It is going to be a long season for Astros’ fans but at least you have a fantasy baseball team?
Josh Donaldson Third Basemen, Oakland Athletics
The third basemen for the Athletics had himself a week! Dawning a .474 batting average with 11 hits in 23 at-bats. He managed to hit two home runs on the week, both of which were solo shots. The word I like to use for solo home runs is solo dolo, but that is neither here nor there. The Athletics have been struggling as of late and have lost seven of their last 10 games. I wouldn’t be too worried if I was an A’s fan but nobody likes to see their team struggle.
