The St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday activated starting pitcher Adam Wainwright from the disabled list. Wainwright has missed the past two weeks with lower-back tightness and has not started a game since July 22nd.
He will be on the bump for St. Louis against the Cincinnati Reds.
The veteran is pitching to an 11-5 record with a 4.89 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 20 starts this season. St. Louis boasts a 12-8 record in games he starts and is six games under .500 in games he doesn't.
For his part, Wainwright posted a 2.25 ERA and 0.85 WHIP in his three starts prior to being on the DL.
