The Yankees have ran into some trouble versus left-handed pitchers this year. On the season, the team owns just a .302 weighted on-base average (wOBA), 86 wRC+ and a .127 isolated power. Those numbers came with Carlos Beltran, who crushed lefties with a 177 wRC+, .436 wOBA and a .289 isolated power. Now that Beltran's gone, the Yankees numbers versus lefties become even more suspect and that's a great advantage for Matz. There is some risk with Matz, his 3.18 ERA in July was strong, but he struck out just 27 batters in 31 innings. Still, the matchup provides him with a great chance to throw six to seven quality innings and earn the crucial 12-point win on FanDuel.
