Scherzer regained his dominance and he did it against a very good Baltimore Offense. Scherzer went eight strong allowing only no runs on only two hits with 10 strikeouts. Scherzer has been dominant for most of the season and that dominance will shine through tonight against the Phillies. In 167 at bats, the Phillies are only hitting .216 off the Nationals ace, and have struck in about 25 percent of their at bats. Scherzer is on pace to break his career high in strikeouts from last season, and a matchup against the lowly hitting and high strikeout Phillies will go a long way towards helping him reach that goal.
