Hendricks has been outstanding this season, and as a result his name has to be in the talks for CY Young. Hendricks hasn’t allowed a run in four straight starts, and in five of his last six. The next opponent to fall victim to Hendricks are the White Sox who do not have a very good offense, having scored the seventh fewest runs in baseball, and they rank 24th in homeruns this season. The White sox have also been prone to the strikeout which is good news for Hendricks who does not generally rack up a ton of strikeouts in large part due to an underwhelming fastball. Despite the slow fastball, Hendricks uses pin point control to induce weak contact and prevent baserunners which is why he has been so successful this year.
