So far Syndergaard has done a decent job at living up to the hype surrounding him. He has yet to give up more than three runs in any start and is striking out right around a batter per inning. He has gone six innings his last two starts and if it weren’t for poor defense by the Mets he would have gone deeper in his last start. Today marks his fourth start of the season and it has the making to be his best one yet as he faces the Phillies who are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball.
