Teheran has been a much better pitcher this season, and appears poised to start the season's final month on a strong note. His first start in September is against the Phillies who rank dead last or second to last in the four major hitting categories, average, runs, OBP, and slugging percentage. The Phillies have lost six of their last seven games, and have scored more than scored five or more runs only once during that losing streak. Teheran also has a track record of success against the Phils holding them to a .219 team batting average with just three homeruns, and 11 RBI in 151 at bats. Teheran strikes out just over eight batters per nine and is a strong bet to rack up some K's tonight and get the win.
