There's definitely some anxious people in the desert Sunday night after Arizona Diamondbacks starter Shelby Miller was lifted from the team's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the fifth inning.
Miller felt tightness in his throwing forearm and had to exit from his start. It's the first time in Miller's career that he has felt this type of pain in his throwing arm. It has led to some real concern for the powers to be in Arizona.
Miller, acquired from the Atlanta Braves prior to last season, had a disastrous first year in Arizona. He posted a 3-12 record with a 6.16 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. The 26-year-old starter entered Sunday's action pitching considerably better in 2017 with a 2-1 record and a 3.50/1.29 split in three starts.
Miller will have an MRI on the arm Monday, at which point we will have an update.
