Dodgers Activate Joc Pederson, Place Adrian Gonzalez on DL

The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated outfielder Joc Pederson from the seven-day concussion DL. In a corresponding move, Los Angeles has placed first baseman Adrian Gonzalez on the 10-day disabled list with lower back discomfort.

Pederson has not seen a MLB field since May 23rd and was struggling big time when he was injured. The third-year player is hitting .211 with two homers and 11 RBI. Though, he did hit a couple homers in his rehab stint in Triple-A Oklahoma City.

With Gonzalez now on the DL, super rookie Cody Bellinger will take over for him at first base. Meanwhile, fellow youngster Christ Taylor will slide over to left with Pederson taking back over his original center field position.

There's no telling how long Gonzalez might be out, but it doesn't seem to be a long-term injury. The 35-year-old first baseman is hitting just .255 with one homer and 23 RBI on the season.
