If you were looking to somehow take advantage of what has been a strong lineup for the Arizona Diamondbacks thus far this season, you might have to rethink that.
The second-place Diamondbacks are resting three core starters on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and starter Brandon McCarthy.
Most noteworthy among those being given the day off, center fielder A.J. Pollock and right fielder Yasmany Tomas will not be in the lineup. Also missing from the team's lineup on Sunday is shortstop Chris Owings.
Pollock is off to a strong start this season, boasting a .308 average with two homers and seven RBI. Meanwhile, Tomas is among the League leaders with 13 homers to go with four RBI.
Fellow outfielders Jeremy Hazelbaker and Daniel Descalso will get the starts in their stead. Meanwhile, Nick Ahmed will start at short.
