Martin Prado of the Arizona Diamondbacks has always been a hot commodity in fantasy baseball due to his versatility. He is mainly a third baseman, but also qualifies for second base and outfield. This year, however, he has not performed up to standards at the plate.

A career .292 hitter, started off ice cold this season like many of his fellow Diamondback teammates. He has raised his average up to .283 and is on an absolute tear lately, though, hitting .409 over the past two weeks.

Prado's numbers still do not look overly impressive as he has gone yard just twice thus far, but his versatility makes up for his slow start in the power category.

Another fact that could help bolster Prado's fantasy value is that the Diamondbacks are finally starting to come around after an absolutely awful start to the season. Well, the standings still look terrible as Arizona is already fourteen games back of the San Francisco Giants for first place in the National League West, but the Dbacks have now won six out of ten, culminating in a sweep of the Colorado Rockies this past week.

Prado has been a big reason for Arizona's potential turnaround and could see his hot streak continue as the team's morale is undoubtedly higher due to its success as of late.

On paper, your opponent who owns Prado will see him as a versatile but so-so hitter on a team ten games under .500. Not such a sexy addition to a fantasy team. Because of this, you should be able to get Prado, a player heating up and helping his team get back into the race, for a pretty cheap price.
