Today in fantasy baseball daily, we have a great number of games to analyze. There were many rain out games yesterday but only one of them are being played today and that is the Cubs vs. Yankees game at 1:05 PM Eastern Time. With that game we have 16 games 30 teams worth of players to choose from.

Good Value Players
Pitcher
Clay Buchholz, Red Sox, $6,800: Buchholz is off to a weak start but he says his arm strength is progressively getting stronger which is great news. In his first outing the Brewers tore him apart getting 13 hits and six earned runs. His second start against the Yankees was much better but he still took the loss. Buchholz is due for a great start and he will see it today against the Chicago White Sox.
Catcher
Josmil Pinto, Twins, $3,200: Pinto continues his strong start, and now has collected two homers in his last four games. Even with Kurt Suzuki atop the Twins' depth chart, Pinto is making it increasingly difficult for manager Ron Gardenhire to hold him out of the lineup. He faces Blue Jays R.A. Dickey who already is in last year’s form of giving up plentiful hits and runs.
First Base
Brandon Belt, Giants, $3,500: Belt continues to belt the ball (no pun intended) in early in the season. Through the first eight games in April, Belt is hitting .343 with five homers and nine RBI. The usually patient hitter has yet to draw a walk this season, but you won't hear his owners complaining if his aggressive approach is resulting in more long balls. Belt looks well on his way to finally having that breakout campaign many have been predicting for several years.
Second Base
Aaron Hill, Diamondbacks, $3,400: In the second base position there really isn’t too much to choose from unless you want to spend big bucks. Although Hill hasn’t done anything too much this season, I like his matchup against Mets pitcher Dillon Gee. Gee struggled with his command in his last start, throwing just 59 of his 100 pitches for strikes on his way to surrendering a season-high four walks. Hill should be able to get some production today.
Third Base
Ian Stewart, Angels, $3,100: Stewart made the most of his start in place of the slumping David Freese on Sunday, collecting his first home run and RBI of the season. It's certainly premature to imagine that Stewart can pose a threat to Freese's job security, but the former Cardinal has really disappointed early on this season, as he has tallied just a .458 OPS in his first 39 at-bats.
Shortstop
Everth Cabrera, Padres, $3,000: Cabrera was scratched from Tuesday's lineup with a sore right knee. The 27-year-old Cabrera is off to a strong start, and has hit safely in seven straight games, but it's uncertain how long this ailment could sideline him. He is facing Rockies Jorge De La Rosa who has been roughed up in every start this year giving up only 4 hits in his 4.1 innings pitched in each game, but also have up more than three runs in each game.
Outfield
Angel Pagan, Giants, $3,500: Pagan continued his torrid start to the season going 3-for-5 with a steal against the Diamondbacks Wednesday. He has at least one hit in every game so far this season and is now hitting .462 on the year. While that will not continue, the two steals so far this year are a good sign that Pagan is healthy. He should be a productive player this year hitting at the top of the Giants batting order.
My Lineup: $35,000 Cap
Pitcher – Clay Buchholz, Red Sox, $6,800
Catcher – Josmil Pinto, Twins, $3,200
First Base – Brandon Belt, Giants, $3,500
Second Base – Aaron Hill, Diamondbacks, $3,400
Third Base – Ian Stewart, Angels, $3,100
Shortstop – Everth Cabrera, Padres, $3,000
Outfield – Angel Pagan, Giants, $3,500
Outfield – Yasiel Puig, Dodgers, $4,000: It seems that Puig’s thumb isn’t really bothering his hitting since he is doing just fine at the plate. In yesterday’s game he went 2-for-5 with a triple and a walk against the Giants. He faces the Giants Ryan Vogelsong who has yet to make it past the fifth inning this season. Puig should have another good day on the field.
Outfield – Andrew McCutchen, Pirates, $4,200: McCutchen went 1-for-4 with a walk Tuesday against the Reds. He appeared to wrench his back during his first at-bat but then hit a double down the left-field line on the next pitch. McCutchen, who has yet to go deep, has already dealt with an ankle injury. The center fielder has never played in fewer than 154 games in four full seasons. He matches up against the Reds Johnny Cueto who has done well this season but McCutchen is good enough to get some hits off of him.
