Fantasy Baseball Daily- May 12, 2014

Monday is here again.  Don’t get the Monday blues though, we’ve got you covered with another fantastic week of fantasy daily baseball coming your way.  Today we have a small sample of games to choose from that are all evening/night games with the earliest being the Subway Series of the New York Mets at the New York Yankees starting at 7:05 PM Eastern Standard Time.  With this game we have 10 total games today with 20 teams worth of players to analyze so let’s get into it and win some money!

We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel.com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit.  This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash.  The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible.)

The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:

Hitters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,

Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt

Good Value Players

Pitcher

Tom Koehler, Marlins, $5,900: Koehler was phenomenal in his previous start Wednesday, but settled for a no-decision after limiting the Mets to two hits and a walk over eight scoreless innings.  He struck out five and has not allowed a run in his last two starts, while permitting only eight baserunners in 15 innings . The 27-year-old right-hander carries a 3-2 record and a remarkable 1.99 ERA into his next scheduled start against the Dodgers today where he pitched exceptionally well the last time he pitched against them this season going seven innings strong with only three hits allowed.

Catcher

Brian McCann, Yankees, $3,100: McCann took a routine day off yesterday and should be fresh and ready to go in today’s game against the Mets.  He has been hot and cold so far this season and seems to have a good game every other day.  I predict he will have his good game today.  He faces the right-handed pitcher, Bartolo Colon, who owns a 5.36 ERA in seven starts and gives up tons of hits in each of his games.

First Base

Adam Lind, Blue Jays, $2,900: Lind, making his return from a back injury, hit a two-run homer and a sacrifice fly in Thursday's win over the Phillies and went 2-for-3 in yesterdays game against the Angels.  He hadn't played since April 15. Lind had been off to a hot start to the year before the injury, hitting for average while showing never-before-seen (from him) plate discipline, and if he can maintain some of that while still bopping 20-plus homers, he'll have plenty of fantasy value including our daily fantasy needs.

Second Base

Brandon Hicks, Giants, $3,100: Hicks was 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the Giants win over Los Angeles Sunday.  He is hitting just .200 but has seven home runs in 95 at-bats on the season, good for second among all major league second basemen.  He is facing the Atlanta Braves righty, Gavin Floyd who had a great first start last week against the Cardinals.  Though he started off well, there is a good chance that wont last long being that he owned a 5.18 ERA last season.  Hicks will likely stay on his points streak.

Third Base

Juan Francisco, Blue Jays, $3,200: Francisco is just hitting too well to sit right now.  Over his last seven games, Francisco has two home runs, six RBI, seven runs scored to go along with a .318 average and .385 OBP.  While the run is improbable, Francisco was once considered a top prospect, and is still just 26 years old.  He's shown a bit more patience at the plate early on this season, a trend that could lead him to more playing time if he's able to sustain it.

Shortstop

Elvis Andrus, Rangers, $3,200: Andrus went 4-for-5 with a double and three runs scored in Friday's victory over the Red Sox and went 1-for-3 yesterday.  After slumping during the early part of the season, Andrus has now put together a modest six-game hit steak, recording his first multi-hit game since April 15.  The spark he's shown at the plate should be enough for him to hang on to the two-spot in the batting order for the foreseeable future.

Outfield

Adam Jones, Orioles, $3,500: Jones was 1-for-4 with a two-run single in Sunday's loss to the Astros.  He drove in the only two runs the Orioles were able to manufacture Sunday, and they represented career RBI No. 500 and 501 of his career.  Although he's been off to a bit of a slow start by his standards, Jones has posted a .500 slugging percentage in the month of may.  That type of trend needs to be taken advantage of which is why he is a must play ni today’s daily games.
