Today we have a full slate of games that includes seven day games and eight night games. This is gives us plenty of options to choose from when making our lineups as we won’t be handcuffed into spending too much cash into a position due to a lack of games.
We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash. The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).
The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:
Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt
Pitcher
Tim Hudson, Giants, $5,900: Hudson seems like a must start for dailies today. At only $5,900 he is a steal with the way he ahs been pitching so far. Even better is that he faces the Padres who are tied for last in the majors with the Houston Astros in runs scored at 45. With the Padres offense unable to hit the ball and the Giants beating up seemingly everybody Hudson should have no problem pulling out the win.
Catcher
Mike Zunino, Mariners, $2,400: Zunino has continued his strong play this year after a disappointing season last year. Zunino has some pop in his bat, as he’s displayed with the three homeruns he’s hit already. The Mariners are playing the Marlins tonight who have Henderson Alvarez on the mound who’s walked at least two batters in every game and sports an ERA over four. The control issues have led to a WHIP that is over 2.0, so there should be no shortage of base runners for Zunino to drive in tonight.
First Base
Eric Hosmer, Royals, $3,300: Hosmer has been hitting the ball much better of late and look more like the player from the second half of last season. During his current five game hitting streak he has four RBI and two multi hit games. There is little doubt that he will extend that streak to six games with Kevin Correia on the mound. He has been very ineffective all season, as opposing hitters have all had his number.
Second Base
Derek Dietrich, Marlins, $2,700: Dietrich has been a good surprise for the Marlins this year. Dietrich displayed some promise of power last season, hitting nine homeruns in 215 at bats, however he was unable to consistently make solid contact. Dietrich has squaring the ball up a lot more this year which has led to an increase in batting average. Batting .286 this year Dietrich is a solid if unspectacular buy low option.
Third Base
Nolan Arenado, Rockies, $3,200: Arenado is on a roll right now at the plate, with a nine game hitting streak. The one downfall to his game right now is that he continues to bat in the bottom third of the order which is limiting his runs scored as well as his ability to drive in runs. Due to his spot in the order he only has three runs scored and four RBI during his hitting streak. Despite that he is worth starting and could warrant a move closer towards the middle of the order with the way he’s swinging the bat right now.
Short Stop
Brandon Crawford, Giants, $3,200: Despite not being a power or a speed player Crawford still finds a way to get the job done. He’s batting .311 on the year and has found a way to get his fair share of runs scored and RBI in the surprisingly potent Giants offense.
Outfield
Adam Jones, Orioles, $3,300: It’s shocking to see this name on the list of value picks in a daily league but that’s exactly what he is today. Due to his early struggles this year his cap hit is all the way down to $3,300. With back to back multi hit games Jones appears to be hitting himself out his early season slump. With the left hander Felix Doubront on the mound for the Red Sox I expect Jones to keep his streak alive of multi hit games alive and well exceed the value you would expect out of a player that costs $3,300.
