It’s the weekend now which is nice because that means every team has a game. There are six day games today to go along with nine night games. There are a lot of good batter matchups which could shape today into a high scoring day in daily’s.

Value Picks
Pitcher
Marco Estrada, Brewers, $6,700: Estrada, much like the other starters for Milwaukee outside of Matt Garza has pitched extremely well to start the season. With a 2.66 ERA through four starts Estrada is dominating opposing hitters and has the pleasure of squaring off against the Cubs today. You won’t get a ton of strikeouts from Estrada but a win is very likely against the 7-14 Cubs.
Catcher
Kurt Suzuki, Twins, $3,100: After an underwhelming year in 2013 in which Suzuki was possibly the worst offensive catcher in baseball, he has really turned things around in Minnesota. Suzuki batted a paltry .232 last year with only five homeruns and 32 RBI. In 2014 Suzuki already has more than half the number of RBI he did all of last year with 17 and is currently batting .310. For the moment he’s doing enough to hold off Josmil Pinto, and as long as he retains the starting job it’s hard to not start him with the way he has hit the ball.
First Base
Eric Hosmer, Royals $3,300: Hosmer has been very consistent lately in an offense that has underperformed. The power may never develop into what many thought Hosmer could do but, he has proven more than capable to bat for a high average and this year has been no different. He is batting .310 in the three hole for the Royals so the RBI chances are eventually going to come. Even with a lefty on the mound I have no issues starting Hosmer as he handles lefties very well for a left handed batter.
Second Base
Jose Altuve, Astros, $2,800: Altuve is absolutely owning Athletics pitching right now. As I am writing this he 5/7 in the series with two doubles and an RBI. Next up for Altuve is Daniel Straily who has not pitched well this year outside of one start against the Twins. Straily own a 5.40 ERA and while he should pitch well overall against the Astros Altuve should end the game with a hit or two off of Straily or the bullpen which has not been as dominant of late.
Third Base
Lonnie Chisenhall, Indians, $2,800: Chisenhall has come out the gates clicking on all cylinders with a whopping .432 batting average. The Indians get to see the erratic Tim Lincecum who has been lost on the mound the past few years after being a perennial CY Young award candidate. Lefties are batting .333 off Lincecum early on this year. If Lincecum is having one of his days where he can’t find the strike zone it could turn out to be a big day for Chisenhall.
Short Stop
Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox, $3,100: Bogaerts has found his groove at the plate of late. Bogaerts has hit in nine straight games but only has one multi hit game to show for it. As long as he continues to score or dive in runs, which he has done in eight of the nine games during his hitting streak he should prove to be more than valuable. Brandon Morrow is on the mound who has plus pitches across the boards has never been able to control and has led to struggles throughout his entire career. I expect more struggles today against a strong Red Sox offense.
Outfield
Torii Hunter, Tigers, $2,900: Hunter is on a roll at the plate right now and is showing no signs of aging. During his current five game hitting streak he has three multi hit games and gets to face Phil Hughes who had his best start of the season last week when he gave up three runs in six innings. Hughes has struggles all season long and the tigers have a potent enough offense to put some serious run scoring numbers against the struggling Hughes. There will be no shortage of run scoring and run driving opportunities for Hunter against one of the worst overall pitching staffs in baseball.
My Lineup
Pitcher
Marco Estrada, Brewers, $6,700
Catcher
Jonathan Lucroy, Brewers, $3,300
First Base
Eric Hosmer, Royals, $3,300
Second Base
Jose Altuve, Astros, $2,800
Third Base
Lonnie Chisenhall, $2,800
Short Stop
Troy Tulowitzki, Rockies, $5,100: The best shortstop in the game and possibly the third best hitter in the game behind Mike Trout, and Miguel Cabrera, it’s never a bad idea to have him in the lineup. Tulo is on fire right now as well with a homerun in three consecutive games. Tulowitzki has hit the ball all year long and is showing no signs of slowing down as long as he can stay on the field.
Outfield
Adam Eaton, White Sox, $3,300: In his first game back Eaton stole his second base of the year, showing no ill effects from the hamstring injury he suffered that forced him out of five games. Now that he is back in action Eaton is going to continue to be a cheap, valuable pick on a daily basis.
Outfield
Jacoby Ellsbury, Yankees, $4,400: Even though he went hitless yesterday the entire Yankees offense was stifled by the Angels pitching. Ellsbury has handled left handed pitchers exceptionally well so far with a .455 batting average and has three steals off of left handed pitchers without getting caught. I expect a rebound for Ellsbury and the Yankees offense after an abysmal performance last night.
Outfield
Adam Jones, Orioles, $3,300
