The All Star break is finally over which means baseball is back and we can get back into the swing of things in the world of daily baseball. This is the second day back and with it being a Saturday that means we have day games so be sure to get your lineups submitted early enough that you don’t miss out on any games or players.
We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash. The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).
The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:
Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt
My Value Picks
Pitcher
Tyson Ross, Padres, $7,400: Ross has been absolutely fantastic this year for the Padres. He sports a sparkling 2.85 ERA and has nearly struck out a batter per inning. In his first start since the All Star break he welcomes the weak hitting Mets which should be a nice way to get back into the groove of things after the layoff.
Catcher
Salvador Perez, Royals, $3,100: Perez has really come around this season and is proving that he is one of the best hitting catchers in all of baseball. He has double digit homeruns and a near .300 batting average. Rubby De La Rosa has been impressive for Boston since getting called up but Perez is good enough to still have a productive game at the plate.
First Base
Adrian Gonzalez, Dodgers, $3,100: Gonzalez has struggled all season long to string multiple hits together which has lead to him having the lowest batting average of his career. Despite that he has still been a very productive run producer for the Dodgers. Gonzalez has 60 RBI and 14 long balls this season. Batting in the middle of the very good Dodgers offense should continue to yield plenty of run driving opportunities for the veteran slugger.
Second Base
Neil Walker, Pirates, $3,100: Walker has been provided very good production from the middle infield position all season long and looks to keep that production going against the struggling Brett Anderson. Walker is second in homeruns and top ten in RBI among all second baseman. Anderson has only made four start this season but has given up ten hits in two of them making Walker and a few other Pirates great selections today.
Third Base
Lonnie Chisenhall, Indians, $3,200: Chisenhall has been one of the better stories of the 2014 season. A prospect that was always believed to be a good hitter, he has finally put it all together this season with a .328 batting average and nine homeruns. Even if he cools off in the second half he remains a plus start while he remains locked in at the plate.
Short Stop
Starlin Castro, Cubs, $3,000: The young all star short stop is rebounding very well in 2014 after a disappointing season last year. He has a great matchup to start the second half as he gladly travels to Arizona to face the extremely hittable Diamondbacks pitching staff.
Outfield
Adam Eaton, White Sox, $2,700: Eaton has been anon base machine for the White Sox when healthy which has lead to a good number of runs scored. Eaton is currently riding a five game hitting streak and is batting .300 over the last 30 days. He faces a lefty in Dallas Keuchel who has been very good overall this year for the Astros but has struggled recently having given up at least four runs in his last four starts. If the potent White Sox offense keeps that streak going against Keuchel expect Eaton to be a big part of it as the table setter for the offense.
