Fantasy Baseball Daily - June 1, 2014

We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel.com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit.  This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash.  The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible.)

The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:

Hitters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt

Good Value Players

Pitcher

Jon Niese, Mets, $6,500: Niese gave up two earned runs on three hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 5.2 innings Tuesday against the Pirates.  He didn't go deep enough into Tuesday's game to be the pitcher of record when the Mets took the lead, so his owners were deprived a win. However, he continues to be a pretty steady option, finishing the night with a 2.74 ERA on the season. There's really nothing in Niese's numbers that points to him being able to maintain a sub-3.00 ERA, and he's probably closer to his 3.57 xFIP going forward, but that's still a very useful option in most leagues.

Catcher

Wilin Rosario, Rockies, $3,300: Rosario smacked a three-run homer in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Phillies.  After entering the game hitless over his last 13 at-bats, Rosario busted out of the slump in a big way in the seventh inning Tuesday, breaking a 1-1 tie in the process. Occasional dry spells are inevitable for a free swinger like Rosario, but few catchers bring can supply power like the 25-year-old can.

First Base

Adam Lind, Blue Jays, $3,300: Lind went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over the Rays. He finished the game with two runs and two RBI.  The bomb was his third of the season, while the pair of base knocks improved his average to an impressive .341 through 82 at-bats this season. As long as he's facing righties (.381 vs .071 against lefties), Lind makes for a great play on a red-hot Jays squad, winners in eight of their last nine games.

Second Base

Gordon Beckham, White Sox, $3,100: Beckham went 2-for-4 with a game-winning solo homer in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Indians.  Beckham's fourth bomb of the season in the fifth inning was basically the only excitement of the night for fans at U.S. Cellular Field, who were forced to endure a two-hour rain delay after the third inning that ended the nights of both starting pitchers, Chris Sale and Justin Masterson. The second baseman has been stroking with some consistently of late, as he now owns a modest eight-game hit streak and has hit safely in 23 of his last 26 games. If you're hurting in the batting average department and can spare a middle infield spot, you may want to give this guy a look.

Third Base

Martin Prado, Diamondbacks, $3,300: Prado went 2-for-5 and hit his second home run of the season in Wednesday's victory over the Padres. He scored two runs and drove in three.  Prado has now homered in consecutive games after going homerless in his first 197 at-bats. He singled in a run in the Diamondbacks eight run first inning, then took Donn Roach deep for a two-run shot in the second. It's been a slow start to the season for Prado, but he looks to be showing signs of waking up lately. After Wednesday's performance, Prado is now batting .370 over his last 27 at-bats with two home runs, eight RBI's and six runs scored. The hot stretch has raised his OPS by nearly 80 points.

Shortstop

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox, $3,300: Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's victory over the Braves.  Bogaerts recorded his eighth multi-hit game of the month, bringing his batting average up to .287 on the season. After a relatively slow start, the 21-year-old has shown signs of a turnaround, and hitting second in the order -- which he's done for six straight games -- can only help his run production.

Outfield

Matt Holliday, Cardinals, $3,300: With Lance Lynn grooving on the mound, Holiday was a major force on offense for the Cardinals in Tuesday's 6-0 win against the Yankees.  Holiday went 3-3 at the plate while hitting his third home run of the year.  He also added two runs and a walk.  While a little slow out of the gate, Holiday is still a tried and true vet you run out every week on your fantasy team.  For this type of value it will be a steal to get him at this price.
