We are back to a full slate of games tonight after a few teams had off last night. We have only one day game today and it is a 3:40 start so you should have plenty of time to get your lineup in without missing any games. Pitcher is a very ugly position tonight with not a lot of good cheap option and the other more expensive pitching options have tough matchups. Regardless you have come to the right place if you are looking to build your self a money winning lineup.
We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash. The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).
The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:
Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt
My Value Plays
Pitcher
Francisco Liriano, Pirates, $6,900: Liriano has really regressed so far in 2014 but he has a very good matchup tonight against the Cubs. He has been dominant against this team throughout his career and as a team the Cubs are only batting .167 against him. Liriano’s last two starts have been better with two ruins given up over 10.2 innings but he has eight walks also in that span. If Liriano can reign in the walks he should manage to go deep against the weak hitting Cubs and provide a plethora of strikeouts.
Catcher
Jason Castro, Astros, $3,000: Castro has been disappointing this season but a series against the Diamondbacks has the benefit of being able to heat up a hitters bat no matter how cold they are. Bronson Arroyo started out pitched extremely well this year but has given up 15 runs over his last four starts. Look for Castro’s bat to wake up for at least one series and keep him in your lineups for daily leagues.
First Base
Mike Napoli, Red Sox, $3,100: In his first game back after suffering a finger injury Napoli went 3-4 with a homerun his first in over a month. Next up is a juicy matchup against Chris Tillman who looks nothing like the pitcher of last year. He has an ERA above five and a WHIP of 1.51. With the amount of runners Tillman is putting on base and his inability to keep the ball in the yard this could have the makings of a huge game for Napoli.
Second Base
Daniel Murphy, Mets, $3,100: Murphy just keeps on hitting the ball and remains one of the few bright spots in the Mets lineup. He has a batting average above .300 and has double digit steals. Surprisingly in such a bad Mets offense Murphy has already scored 39 runs making him a valuable all around fantasy asset. Start him with confidence knowing that he is one player that contributes on a nightly basis at a very good price.
Third Base
Matt Carpenter, Cardinals, $3,300: Carpenter is feeling it at the plate right now and nearly has that batting average back above the .300 mark. He has seven multi hit games over his last 12 games played and now gets to face Jake Odorizzi who has going through a really bad stretch that has seen his ERA balloon from the two’s to 5.20.
Short Stop
Danny Santana, Twins, $3,100: Santana has been great for the Twins and was just what they needed to wake up what has been a sluggish offense of late. He is batting .364 and as the leadoff hitter will have plenty of opportunities to score runs. He now has two homeruns in his last four games and is just too hot to not start right now.
Outfield
Jon Singleton, Astros, $3,000: If you are looking for some cheap power out of the outfield position Singleton is a great option. He already has two homeruns in only seven games and faces Arroyo who is prone to giving up the long ball. It’s always risky to play for the homerun but if you get one the points you will gain from it can make the difference between a win and a loss.
