Hitters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt
Good Value Players
Pitcher
Tanner Roark, Nationals, $6,400: Roark struck out 11 hitters on the night as he ran his record to 4-4 on the season picking up the win against the Padres on Friday, only allowing three hits over eight innings pitched. The Nationals couldn't have asked for a better night from their young pitcher, as Roark threw 107 pitches on the night with 77 of those pitches being strikes. Roark didn't walk a hitter and only allowed one extra-base hit, as he lowered his season ERA to 2.91.
Catcher
Jacob Realmuto, Marlins, $3,000: Realmuto has been called up from Double-A Jacksonville. He is rated as one of the Marlins' top-10 prospects by MLB.com, has been brought up from Double-A to replace Jarrod Saltalamacchia (concussion) for at least the next week. The young catcher has posted a strong .301/.364/.503 slash line with 22 extra-base hits over 46 games with Jacksonville this season. He will split time with Jeff Mathis until Saltalamacchia is able to return.
First Base
Albert Pujols, Angels, $3,200: Pujols went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the White Sox on Friday. For Pujols owners, the best thing to do would perhaps be to just keep focusing on that impressive home run total, which now stands at 15. The 37-year-old has really cooled off after his hot start at the beginning of the season, as he is now 6-for-39 in his last 10 games. It may not be entirely fair, but it seems reasonable to assume that every slide of Pujols' from here on out will have questions regarding his health attached to it.
Second Base
Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox, $3,400: Pedroia went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI and his third homer of the season in Saturday night's loss to the Tigers. He's 7-for-21 in his last five games. More than a third of the way through the season and Pedroia's numbers are below what we expect from him. He's yet to have a hot streak this season, but could be emerging early in June.
Third Base
Brock Holt, Red Sox, $3,100: Holt went 4-for-5 with a triple and a run scored in Sunday night's win over the Tigers. Holt was making his first start as an outfielder in the game and will certainly make more. The infielder immediately becomes Boston's best hitting threat in the outfield. His value is still low on FanDuel so make sure you buy low while you can before his price rises over as he continues to get better.
Shortstop
Alcides Escobar, Royals, $2,900: Escobar went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday’s game against the Yankees. Escobar has moved down to the bottom half of the order since the return of Omar Infante (back), even though his 48 hits are good for fourth on the team. He has cooled down a bit since nearly hitting .300 in April, as his batting average is now .262, much closer to his career mark of .258. Fantasy owners can take solace in his 16 steals, however, although he hasn't swiped a bag since June 4.
Outfield
Alex Gordon, Royals, $3,400: Gordon went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs scored Friday against the Yankees. Gordon has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games, raising his batting average to .289 on the season. He's starting to pick up the pace with his power numbers, owning a 1.226 OPS in the month of June. Although his numbers aren't quite what they were at this point last season, he still leads the light-hitting Royals in nearly every offensive category.
