Good Value Players

Pitcher

Bartolo Colon, Mets, $7,500: Colon turned in perhaps his best outing of the season Wednesday against the Pirates, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings while striking out nine batters against just one walk.  Making his first start since May 17, Colon appeared dialed in despite the long rest, setting a season-high in both strikeouts and pitch count (121). Three outings in which Colon has allowed six or more runs have kept his ERA at an unsavory 4.73, but the 41-year-old has delivered a quality start in each of his other seven outings on the season. A 3.67 FIP and an impressive 52:7 K:BB ratio suggest Colon isn't pitching nearly as poorly this season as his ERA would indicate, making him a worthy buy-low target.

Catcher

Jacob Realmuto, Marlins, $3,000: Realmuto has been called up from Double-A Jacksonville.  He is rated as one of the Marlins' top-10 prospects by MLB.com, has been brought up from Double-A to replace Jarrod Saltalamacchia (concussion) for at least the next week. The young catcher has posted a strong .301/.364/.503 slash line with 22 extra-base hits over 46 games with Jacksonville this season. He will split time with Jeff Mathis until Saltalamacchia is able to return.

First Base

Adam Dunn, White Sox, $3,100: Dunn hit a walk-off two-run homer against the Yankees on Friday, as he went 1-for-4 on the night with two runs scored and two RBI.  The 435-foot shot to right field was Dunn's eighth homer on the season. To this point, it's been a pretty good season for Dunn overall (.248/.399/.481) as he's shown his ability to take walks again, while being a powerhouse with the stick. Dunn's bat will remain a fixture in the White Sox' lineup for the foreseeable future.

Second Base

Gordon Beckham, White Sox, $3,000: Beckham went 2-for-4 with a game-winning solo homer in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Indians.  Beckham's fourth bomb of the season in the fifth inning was basically the only excitement of the night for fans at U.S. Cellular Field, who were forced to endure a two-hour rain delay after the third inning that ended the nights of both starting pitchers, Chris Sale and Justin Masterson. The second baseman has been stroking with some consistently of late, as he now owns a modest eight-game hit streak and has hit safely in 23 of his last 26 games. If you're hurting in the batting average department and can spare a middle infield spot, you may want to give this guy a look.

Third Base

Casey McGehee, Marlins, $3,100: McGehee went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's victory over the Nationals.  McGehee now has three multi-hit games in his last four contests, bringing his batting average up to .299 over 223 plate appearances in 2014. The hits just keep dropping for the 31-year-old, who owns a .360 BABIP on the season. Although McGehee's batting average and 32 RBI have been helpful for fantasy owners, a .746 OPS with just one home run leave much to be desired in the power department.

Shortstop

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox, $3,800: Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Wednesday's victory over the Braves.  Bogaerts recorded his eighth multi-hit game of the month, bringing his batting average up to .287 on the season. After a relatively slow start, the 21-year-old has shown signs of a turnaround, and hitting second in the order -- which he's done for six straight games -- can only help his run production.  As pricy as he is, he is worth having. 

Outfield

Alex Gordon, Royals, $3,000: Gordon was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a two-run home run in the Royals win over Toronto on Friday night.  He also stole his third base of the season as he sprinkled a little of everything onto the score sheet. He's hitting a respectable .281 but it was just his fourth homer of the campaign to go with 29 RBI. The numbers aren't bad, but he's capable of better, and he has been heating up a bit.
