Fantasy Baseball Daily - May 10, 2014

To start out this weekend we have a full slate of games that includes only three day games.  It’s always nice to know you can sleep in and not have to worry about getting your lineup in for daily’s and missing out on a bunch of players due to day games.  Today brings us a ton of good pitching matchups so there are a ton of ways you can go with that position.  With that being said lets look into today’s games and see who we are going to pick today to win some money.

We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up  yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash. The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).

The scoring system for FanDuel  is as follows:

Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt

Good Value Plays

Pitcher
Nathan Eovaldi, Marlins, $6,800:
Eovaldi has pitched better than his potential up to this point in the year.  Fortunately for him he should continue to be an asset for daily players for at least one more start as he gets to go up against the worst offense in the league in the face of the Padres.  With his power fastball and above average slider Eovaldi should have no problem racking up the strikeouts on his way to a victory.

Catcher
Brayan Pena, Reds, $2,700
: Pena is making the most of his time with the injury to Devin Mesoraco.  Since April 29th Pena is batting .391 with three homeruns, six RBI and four runs scored.  This is excellent production out of the catcher spot and you need to ride this hot streak while Pena remains the starter especially since he is under $3,000.

First Base
C.J. Cron, Angels, $2,800:
In his limited time Cron has been very productive for the Angels.  He has hit in three of his five games played and in the games where he has a hit has recorded two hits once and three hits twice.  With the left hander J.A. Happ on the mound tomorrow Cron should find himself back in the lineup.

Second Base
Scooter Gennett, Brewers, $2,900:
After a bit of a rough stretch where Scooter went 2/16 he has found his bat again the past four games 6/15 with four runs scored and his second homerun of the season.  When he’s going good Gennett can score a ton of runs for you and is always a cheap option.

Third Base
Manny Machado, Orioles, $3,200:
Machado may be finding his bat at the plate after a slow start coming off of injury.  Machado hit his first homerun of the season last night and should have a good series against the subpar pitching of the Houston Astros.  Tonight the Astros will send Collin McHugh to the mound who owns a 7.16 career ERA and was shelled in his last start against the Mariners giving up five runs in only four innings.

Short Stop
Erick Aybar, Angels, $3,200:
Aybar has been extremely productive over his last 15 games.  During that Span Aybar is batting .300 with two homeruns, nine runs scored and 10 RBI.  There are a ton of shortstops that are on fire right now and seeing as Aybar has the advantage of being relatively cheap he makes for a good play today.

Outfield
Adam Jones, Orioles, $3,100:
Jones has been far from his normal self up this point in 2014.  As a player who had over 100 runs and RBI last year to go along with 33 homeruns and a .285 batting average a .267 average with only three homeruns is certainly not the start many envisioned for him.  Jones has shown signs of life though the last four games.  Jones had a two homerun game on the seventh and collected two hits in back to back games.  With a series against the Astros, Jones is a strong candidate have a good weekend at the plate.
