The weekend is finally upon us and what better way to start it off than with a winning lineup in daily fantasy baseball. Today we have a full slate of games that includes only one day game which is the Cubs and Brewers at 2:20. It’s time to start the weekend out right with a winning lineup.
We bring you fantasy daily picks for FanDuel .com and if you haven’t signed up yet, be sure to follow this link http://eDraft.com/FanDuel/MLB to receive a 100% deposit bonus on your initial deposit. This is an amazing deal that you can’t miss so be sure to check it out and make yourself some extra cash . The cap for FanDuel is $35,000 with only one player at each position like a real MLB lineup (with the exception of outfielders where you can start any three players that are outfield eligible).
The scoring system for FanDuel is as follows:
Batters: Single = 1pt, Double = 2pts, Triple = 3pts, Homerun = 4pts, RBI = 1pt, Run = 1pt, Walk = 1pt,
Stolen Base = 2pts, Hit By Pitch = 1, Out (calculated as at bats - hits) = -.25pt
Pitchers: Win = 4pts, Earned Run = -1pt, Strike Out = 1pt, Innings Pitched = 1pt
My Good Value Plays
Pitcher
Kyle Lohse, Brewers, $6,500: Just like last season Lohse has been dominant in the beginning of the season. At most Lohse has given up three runs and faces a Cubs lineup that doesn’t scare many pitchers. Even though Jeff Samardzija is on the mound for the Cubs who has been absolutely dominant this year the offense is so bad for the Cubs that I still like Lohse’s chances of getting a win.
Catcher
Mike Zunino, Mariners, $2,800: Not the most consistent of batters Zunino is worth starting when he is hot at the plate. He has two homeruns during his six game hitting streak to bring his total to six for the year. At only $2,800 if Zunino can connect for another homerun or at least drive in a couple of runs he makes for a great value play.
First Base
C.J. Cron, Angels, $2,800: With the Angels finally back in American League park Cron will find himself back into the lineup where he should continue to produce as he had before being reduced to a bench role due to playing N.L. teams. Chris Archer has not been the same pitcher we grew accustomed to watching last night as he now sports an ERA that is above five. Cron already has two homeruns in his limited time and with a .379 batting average he is continuing in more ways that just power making him a cheap, valuable play tonight.
Second Base
Brandon Phillips, Reds, $2,900: Despite going hitless in the night cap of the double header last night Phillips had two hits that included a homerun and four RBI in the first game. The move to the three hole has been kind to Phillips and with Kyle Kendrick on the mound who hasn’t won a game in nine months look for that success to continue.
Third Base
Pablo Sandoval, Giants, $2,600: Sandoval has finally shown sign of life at the plate. He’s compiled a six game hitting streak. His average has gone up form .178 to .204 and a series against the Marlins who no longer have Jose Fernandez due to injury Pablo should continue his hitting ways as his numbers climb up and begin to normalize to his career batting numbers.
Short Stop
Ian Desmond, Nationals, $2,800: Desmond much like Sandoval has been hitting the ball well of late. Today’s matchup may be difficult due to how well Jonathon Niese has pitched this season but when a batter has five RBI and a homerun in his last three games it’s difficult not to put him in your lineup.
Outfield
James Jones, Mariners, $3,000: Jones has been a great sparkplug for the Mariners atop the batting order since getting called up. In only ten games played Jones has scored seven runs and has a .367 batting average. Kyle Gibson is on the mound for the Twins who has been extremely sporadic this year. In seven starts Gibson has given up three or more runs and in the other four starts has given up no runs twice and one run twice. If Gibson has one of his bad pitching games Jones should be able to score a couple of runs and provide plenty of value for your team.
