First and foremost, this is probably not the last time you will see Chris Johnson mentioned in a negative fantasy baseball post.
Nevertheless, if you have the Braves' third baseman, be sure to drop him. Why? So far this season, Johnson is hitting .231 with one home run and four runs batted in. So far, it has actually been better to start no one at third base instead of Johnson.
How can that be?
That is one of the best parts about FantasyVA, it shows you who is valuable, and who is less than even average value. Johnson was projected as the worst possible option at third base with a value of -33.13. Now, is that projection biased? Not at all, last season, when Johnson hit .321, his value was -11.62 which was amongst the worst third basemen available. Johnson is extremely replacable when he is hitting .321, let alone when he is hitting close to 100 points lower.
Johnson's value in every category last season was well below average, with the exception of batting average. Since his average is a lot lower this season, he is worst less than the average player, by far, in fantasy baseball.
By comparison, players who were projected with simialr value to Chris Johnson were, Martin Prado, Cody Asche and David Freese, and only one of them is owned in a lot of fantasy leagues with Prado topping at close to 95 percent.
Currently, Johnson is owned in about 25 percent of leagues, but even that number is drastically decreasing. Be sure to get rid of him before it is too late.
Logic says drop him, and FantasyVA said not to draft him.
