The St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly signed outfielder Dexter Fowler to a five-year deal worth upwards of $16 million per season. It's a move that takes a star player from the division rival and World Series champion Chicago Cubs while adding someone at a position of utmost need.
As the Cubs' starting center fielder last season, Fowler hit .278 with 14 homers, 48 RBI and 13 stolen bases while posting a tremendous .393 on-base percentage.
A consistently good player over the past several seasons, Fowler has had a tremendous amount of success at St. Louis' Busch Stadium. He's posted a .282 average with a .399 BABip in 36 career game at his new home stadium. This ups Fowler's fantasy value a great deal, especially considering he's a career .244 hitter at Wrigle Field.
