The New York Mets have reportedly re-signed outfielder Yoenis Cespedes to a four-year, $110 million contract. This comes after Cespedes himself opted out of his own deal earlier in November. It's a big move for the Mets, especially considering the 31-year-old outfielder is coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him hit .280 with 31 homers and 86 RBI.
Despite missing 30 games to injury last season, Cespedes was still able to finish as the ninth-best fantasy center fielder in baseball, just behind the likes of Adam Jones and Andrew McCutchen. In fact, his average of 8.5 points per game ranked fourth best among players at his position.
This seems to be Cespedes' absolute floor heading into the 2017 season. While we can't project injuries, it's important to note that he played in 159 games the previous season.
Also important to note, Cespedes hit nearly as well on the road as he did at home last season.
| Where | Games | Hits | AVG | HR | RBI | OBP | BABip |
| Home | 68 | 66 | .287 | 14 | 40 | .366 | .319 |
| Away | 64 | 68 | .273 | 17 | 46 | .342 | .279 |
This is a big deal in that Cespedes can definitely be relied on as an elite-level play in the DFS world. He's also someone you're likely not going to have to bench should he face what's perceived to be a difficult matchup.
