The Chicago Cubs designated catcher Miguel Montero for assignment on Wednesday after he went off on a verbal tirade directed at starting pitcher Jake Arrieta.
Montero has thrown out just 1-of-32 base stealers thus far this season. He decided that Arrieta was at fault for his lack of performance behind the plate.
At the plate, it's a completely different story. He's hitting .286 with a .366 OBP in part-time duties this season. Surely, another team will give him a look. It just might not be as a catcher.
