Los Angeles Dodgers veteran starting pitcher Scott Kazmir will open the regular season on the disabled list, manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Monday.
Kazmir has been sidelined and dealing with a hip issue throughout the spring. His velocity has shown signs of regression with pitches clocking in as low as 82 MPH.
Kazmir, 33, posted a 10-6 record with a 4.56 ERA in 26 starts with the Dodgers last season, his first with the team. This now likely seems to indicate that Alex Wood will open the season in the team's starting five-man rotation.
