The Texans Rangers have acquired nine-time All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran from the New York Yankees in exchange for three prospects, including 2015 No. 4 overall pick Dillon Tate.
It's a huge move for the first-place Rangers, who now have that .300 hitter to help take some of the pressure off Adrian Beltre and Ian Desmond in the lineup.
Beltran, 39, is hitting .304 with 22 homers, 70 RBI and a solid .890 OPS. He figures to hit in the top-three of the Rangers lineup for the remainder of the season.
Beltran's splits suggest he'll do a wonderful job in Texas, at least from a fantasy perspective. He's hitting at a .306 clip with a .333 BAbip away from Yankee Stadium on the year. In addition to this, the veteran outfielder is a career .300 hitter in 42 games at Global Life Park in Arlington.
Beltran will split time between the outfield and designated hitter in Texas. He ranked as the 10th-best fantasy right fielder at the time of the trade. There's no reason to believe he's going to regress from that standpoint moving forward.
