The San Francisco Giants have promoted top prospect Austin Slater from Triple-A to help with an outfield situation that has been ravaged by injury. The latest such injury is the concussion Michael Morse suffered during Monday's on-field brawl against Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals.
The 24-year-old outfielder was hitting .322 with four homers and 26 RBI and 27 runs scored in 46 games for Triple-A Sacramento prior to being called up.
Look for Slater to begin seeing consistent starts in left field out of the gate. He'll be someone to keep an eye on here in the short term.
