The injury bug has hit Los Angeles Angels starter Tyler Skaggs once again. The veteran suffered a right oblique strain Friday night against the Texas Rangers and had to exit midway through the game.
The team has now placed Skaggs on the 10-day disabled list and expects him to miss the next 10-12 weeks.
This is yet another unfortunate setback for the former top prospects. Remember, he missed all of the 2015 seasons after undergoing Tommy John Surgery, returning halfway through last season to post a 4.17 ERA in 10 starts. Thus far this season, the 25-year-old starter has put up a 1-1 record with a 3.99 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in five starts.
An uninspired Daniel Wright will not take Skaggs' spot in the rotation. Wright has pitched to a 1-5 record with a 5.55 ERA in 11 career games (eight starts).
