For the most part, the Arizona Diamondbacks will be without starting shortstop Chris Owings for the remainder of the regular season. The team placed Owings on the 60-day disabled list with a fractured right middle finger. Owings injured the finger after being hit on the hand during a game this past weekend. 

Immediately, Arizona sought help through the trade block prior to Monday's non-waiver deadline — adding veteran Adam Rosales to the mix in a deal with the Oakland Athletics. 

Though, it appearst that youngster Ketel Marte will get most of the starts in Owings stead at short for the remainder of the season. 

Owings was hitting .268 with 12 homers, 51 RBI and a .741 OPS at the time of the injury. Rosales provides very little from the plate. Meanwhile, Marte himself is sidelined following the tragic death of his mother. With Nick Ahmed currently on the 60-day disabled list, the Diamondbacks are definitely short-handed from a middle infield perspective over the short term.
