A scary situation unfolded Monday afternoon in San Francisco when Giants catcher Buster Posey was hit in the helmet by a 94 MPH fast ball from Arizona Diamondbacks starter Taijuan Walker.
Posey immediately fell to the dirt by home plate before ultimately getting up. Though, it looked like the All-Star catcher was a bit dazed.
It goes without saying that Posey, who exited the game, will have to pass through the MLB's concussion protocol in order to take to the field again.
Posey was having a tremendous start to the season with a .333 average, two RBI and a .462 on base percentage heading into Monday's action. With him likely sidelined at least for the next game or two, Nick Hundley will likely see the bulk of the catching duties for San Francisco.
