Projected Chicago White Sox No. 3 starter Carlos Rodon will start the season on the disabled list with a biceps injury. Rodon, 24, was placed on the 10-day DL on Sunday. He will be re-evaluated in a couple weeks to see if he can take to the hill again.
The young starter is coming off a 2016 campaign that saw him post a 9-10 record with a 4.04 ERA while striking out more than a batter per inning in 28 starts.
With Rodon sidelined, Dylan Covey will fill in as one of Chicago's five starters. The 25-year-old former first-round pick of the Oakland Athletics was picked up by Chicago in December's Rule 5 Draft. He's not a fantasy fill-in until Rodon returns.
