New York Yankees designated hitter Matt Holliday suffered a lower-back injury Friday against the Cleveland Indians and had to be pulled from the game.
On Saturday, manager Joe Girardi indicated Holliday might be forced to the 10-day disabled list. Though, nothing has been etched in stone yet.
Holliday, 37, has had an up-and-down 2017 season. On one hand, he has hit 16 homers and driven in 51 runs with 31 extra-base hits. On the other hand, the veteran is hitting just .229 with a .319 OBP.
We'll have an update on his status Sunday morning when it likely becomes official.
