The injury hits just keep coming for the unlucky New York Mets. Star outfielder and the team's best hittter, Yoenis Cespedes, exited Thursday's game against the Atlanta Braves with a pulled hamstring.
Cespedes has been dealing with a hamstring issue recently, and his injury on Thursday only adds credence to the idea that New York should have held him out.
This potentially means a stint on the 10-day disabled list. Hamstring injuries have a way of lingering, and the Mets need Cespedes back at 100 percent to overcome all the other injuries they have dealt with during the early part of the season.
Cespedes is hitting .262 with six homers and 10 RBI on the year. Look for Michael Conforto to take on an every-day role until Cespedes returns to action.
