Is Giancarlo Stanton on the Trading Block?

Is Giancarlo Stanton on the Trading Block?

It seems like just yesterday that the Miami Marlins had stars on stars on stars. Today they are down to one lone big name and he goes by Giancarlo Stanton. Since we are within the trade deadline you would think that he would be the next to go, but it seems like the Marlins are not willing to part ways with this slugger just yet.

At the beginning of 2013, when all of the pieces were moved around Stanton tweeted that he was not happy with management not informing him of the moves that were going to be made. That then ensued a slew of rumors stating that he was going to be on his way out soon after. As time passed by no moves were made and the regular season began. That was when he was placed on the DL and all chances of him being traded were put on hold until he returned.

Upon his return, Stanton went on a power streak which was expected as he is one of the best and youngest home run hitters on the up and up. This brings us today and he is still not said to be on the trading block. This clearly means that the Marlins are going to be building around him for many years to come. The only problem is if he does not want to be on this team any longer and this turn sour. For now he seems happy and has a bit of talent next to him in the strong armed center fielder, Marcell Ozuna

They have won 11 of their last 21 games which isn’t good but considering that they are one of the worst teams in baseball this is arguably their best stretch of the year. If you are a New York Yankees fan and are expecting them to somehow get Giancarlo on your team I am just going to tell you now, don’t get your hopes up. I don’t see the Marlins budging one bit on giving this guy up as he is only 23 years old and already has hit 100 career home runs.
