Is Tim Hudson's Career Over?

Is Tim Hudson's Career Over?

It all happened so fast. Eric Young was running to first base when Freddie Freeman fielded a funny bouncing grounder. He then threw the ball over to Tim Hudson who made the out but was immediately stepped on by Young. It fractured Hudson’s ankle and he will be out for the entire 2013 season. It was a gruesome injury and was hard to watch, especially because I am a Braves fan. Hudson is one of the nicest guys in all of baseball and he is honored almost every year for all the amazing work he does off the field.

At the beginning of the season “Huddy” stated that the 2013 year would be his final major league season. After everything that has happened this past week you would have to think that Hudson is reconsidering. You have to look at it like Mariano Rivera. Sure, Huddy was never a closer but he is one of the best pitchers in the past 15 years. The last time he competed in a game cannot end with him being carted off the field, in New York of all places.

This cannot be how the story of Tim Hudson comes to an end, it can’t. I believe that he will make a comeback next season with the Atlanta Braves and will go out the right away and hopefully with a World Series ring. If you are a fan of baseball, it is almost impossible to not be a fan of Huddy. Keeping this short and sweet but this can not and will not be the end. The drive of this man is far more powerful than any fractured right ankle could ever be.

Tim Hudson will probably never read this article but if he does he should know that every Atlanta Braves fan, Oakland Athletics fans and damn near any fan of baseball wants him to come back. One more season. Even if it is only the second half of 2014. Baseball needs one more year of the loveable Tim Hudson. One last season to do hilarious things, like scare Eddie Perez while hiding in a closet with a scream mask on. One more season of complete domination, like the game in 2011 where he homered against Ricky Romero and pitched a complete-game gem.

Baseball needs one more year of HUDDY.
