Young Chicago Cubs outfielder Jorge Soler injured his left hamstring running to first base after knocking a single on Monday night and had to exit the game.
Soler, 24, has received more playing time for the first-place Cubs since Kyle Schwarber was lost for the season with a torn ACL in April.
The youngster is hitting .223 with five homers and 13 RBIs while posting a .322 on-base percentage on the season.
There are no indications one way or another how long Soler might be out, but there's a decent chance he will be forced to head to the 15-day disabled list.
Already thin at the corner outfield position after losing Schwarber, it will be interesting to see where the Cubs turn here should Soler miss substantial time. Triple-A outfielders Matt Murton and Albert Almora Jr. become possibilities should the hamstring injury drag on.
