The New York Mets have added their second veteran infielder in the past week. After picking up James Loney from the San Diego Padres earlier in June, the defending National League champions re-acquired utilityman Kelly Johnson from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for minor leaguer Akeel Morris. 

It's rare that two division rivals would make a trade with one another, but these two squads have been known to work well in the past. 

Johnson, 34, can play seven of the eight defensive positions around the diamond. He's hitting just .215 with one homer and 10 RBI for the cellar-dwelling Braves on the season. 

Last year saw Johnson split time between New York and Atlanta, posting a .265 average, 14 homers, 47 RBI and a .750 OPS. 

He will likely be the Mets top utilityman for the remainder of the season, spelling Loney at first until Lucas Duda returns from injury. 

There's no real DFS relevance here, as Johnson hasn't proven himself worthy of consistent consideration from that aspect.
